Amaya Gaming was founded in 2004 in the Pointe-Claire suburb of Quebec, Canada. It earned a reputation in the online gambling world after purchasing the parent company of Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars in 2014 under the leadership of CEO David Baazov. Amaya rebranded itself in August 2017 with the current CEO Rafi Ashkenaz and adopted the name The Stars Group Inc. It also moved its headquarters from Quebec to Toronto. The Stars Group deals mainly with poker, owning BetStars and PokerStars Casino alongside the other two aforementioned brands. It acquired Sky Betting & Gaming in April 2018.
